The tale of Seth and Bloadie

Got loaded up for a little drive today with the family. Got about two houses away and Seth looks at us and says, "Where'd Bloadie go?" Bloadie is in reference to Brody, the 92lb family golden retriever who was supposed to be with us. Unfortunately Brody was still in the front yard hanging out by the front door. We quickly realized he wasn't with us and turned around. Brody must have realized that we forgot him, and decided he no longer wanted to join us. Strange considering he is always excited to get out and go for a ride. Have you ever heard the joke, "Where does a 200 ton Elephant sit? Anywhere he wants." It was kind of like that. Did I mention his weight? Not the lightest dog in the world to lift into a vehicle against his will.

This story left me with a few puzzles. I do not know...
...how Seth knew that Brody was supposed to be with us, as it was not mentioned prior.
...how Seth knew that Brody wasn't in the car, as he couldn't turn around or see him in the yard.
...how far we would have made it before either of us realized we left Brody behind!

What I do know is that we owe Seth a big thank you. And so does Brody! So thank you Seth. If you had an allowance we would double it for this week.

* Note - before the editor in chief finds need to make corrections, let me make a few things clear. I may have mentioned "we" several times in this little story. The mention of the term "we" was not done to share blame or responsibility equally for what happened. Although blame is to be had on both sides, the person most responsible is well aware of the mistake that was made and is very grateful to the two year old involved for the assistance in correcting said mistake in a timely manner.
