On Saturday we headed downtown to the Grand Rapids Santa Parade. The boys were a little freaked out by the sirens at the beginning of the parade, but quickly settled down and had fun watching....until the first Grinch showed up. It scared Seth. Then a second Grinch came by and Seth lost it again, but this time the Grinch heard him and instead of going on down the road he decided to come over and torment Seth. He was ready to go home after that, but I calmed him down by promising that there wouldn't be another Grinch because there couldn't possibly be THREE Grinches in one parade. I was wrong! I saw it coming and tried to get Chris to distract them, but Seth still saw it. The boys were too excited to see Santa to actually want to leave, so we stuck it out.
It was a fun parade, but entirely too long. One hour and 45 minutes from the first police car until Santa Claus!
Waiting for the parade to start. Noah was being silly with his hat.
I can't decide which is funnier, Seth or the random tall guy in the back.

Is it a Michigan thing to have a gigantic snow plow in a parade?
Waving to Santa Claus!
Yesterday was the boys' 4th birthday! Their party isn't until next weekend, but we wanted the day to be special and do a little celebrating ourselves. We took them to see Happy Feet 2 early in the day. The boys enjoyed the movie, but there wasn't much there for the adults to enjoy. After we got home, they had some quiet time and then ate cupcakes and opened presents. For the first time, we sang Happy Birthday to them individually. I think they liked the attention.

Yes, that is an aluminum bat! They LOVE baseball right now and were growing bored with the plastic bat and ball. We're going to have to keep a close eye on them with this thing.
