Happy 4th of July!

Yes, this post is long overdue! Chris has done all of the posts for a long time, but I decided I have to pull my weight around here. So...this one probably won't be as good! We've been very busy since our last Mother's Day post, but that is par for the course. The boys continue to surprise us everyday with things they are learning and new words. Noah's latest is pointing and asking "What's that?" which comes out more like "Wassat?". Seth is a mimic. We're going to have to really start watching the things we say around him because he tries to copy a lot of it.

Since our last post we had our 18 month doctor's visit and again it was a good one. The boys are doing very well. They're in the 75% percentile for height and the 50% for weight. The doctor was so pleased with their progress that we were given the word to stop the breathing treatments! The have had a cold since then and didn't need albuterol (which is HUGE in our world), so we're keeping our fingers crossed. The boys were troopers through over a year of daily breathing treatments!

At the end of May my brother, Mindy, Gavynn, Riley and Dad all came for a visit. We LOVED having them here and I think they had fun. We had beautiful weather during their visit and the pond was a big hit with Gavynn. They caught a lot of fish and even caught frogs that they raced through the back yard. Riley was a sport and caught some fish of his own. The paddle boat was well used by everyone. Mindy and I took an afternoon and went for pedicures and manicures - we thought we deserved some pampering. I can't wait until we see everyone again.

In June we went on our annual vacation to Shawano, WI to spend time with Chris' parents, brother, and his grandparents. It is always a lot of fun, but it's so busy with two toddlers running the show! Chris' cousin, Chad, was in town from New Mexico with his wife and little boy that is only a few months younger than the boys. It had been many years since they had seen each other, so it was a great time to catch up. There was a lot of fishing while in Shawano, but the boys only got in the boat once. It was enought o make an impact! They enjoyed the boat ride and that has been their favorite word since then. Cars are boats, trucks are boats, and the word boat is spoken randomly and I have no idea what they are referring to.

I think Chris had a nice Father's Day. It was uneventful and relaxed. I tried to let him sleep in on his special day, but the little people in our house are noisy. I hope he enjoyed his day - he's an amazing father...no kidding. He's just incredible with the boys.

Other than that, we have filled our days with playing in the yard with way too many toys and making trips to the zoo and Meijer Gardens. We now have a membership to both the zoo and the garden and are looking forward to many more trips this summer.

Our 4th of July has been a great one. We started the day at the Grandville parade. The boys enjoyed everything except for the trucks honking their horns and the scary clown. After a long nap, the boys played outside and ate dinner at their picnic table. We tried setting off a few small fountain fireworks, but they were not enjoyed by Seth and Noah. I guess we should have known because of an ill-fated trip to a japanese steakhouse not too long ago (a story for another time). The evening was wrapped up by a visit from the ice cream truck.

Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather and time with family!
