Christmas 2014

Christmas came and went so quickly!  We had a busy few weeks leading up to the holiday..

The boys participated in their elementary Christmas program.  Nobody picked their nose on stage!  They sang songs and used bells and scarves during Sleigh Ride.  Seth must've dropped his scarf before the song started, so when he was supposed to wave his scarf in the air, he only lifted his hand a little and looked around.  He kept on going and didn't get upset. Luckily I was able to catch his eye and give him a little thumbs up.

Pictures during the performance were nearly impossible, so we made them stand in front of a Christmas tree at the church after the program.

We went and saw a very cool toy train set-up at a mall in town.  They post a list a items to find and the boys spent a lot of time circling the display to find the hidden gems.  I couldn't keep up, so I just sat and watched them wear themselves out.

It appears we have a new tradition.  Last year, we built a fort in the living room so the boys could watch Christmas shows and sleep by the light of the tree.  They remembered and asked to do it again...

Noah's letter to Santa...  It's pretty easy to tell that we had a couple of rough weeks leading up to Christmas.

Seth's letter...  His was more of a confessional.  It contained no promises of better behavior.  Zippy is our elf.

Christmas Eve was especially fun!  Grandpa and Grandma were here, plus we made cookies...

Watched Christmas movies...

Listened to Daddy read The Night Before Christmas...

And left cookies and eggnog for Santa...

Christmas morning!  Seth and Noah turned on the charm and made it to the nice list at the last minute!  There were so many gifts from awesome family and Santa.

Grandpa and Grandma were getting ready to leave this morning and we realized we didn't get any pictures with them.  How does that happen???  Well, we saved it in the end.  We are so glad we were able to celebrate Christmas with them.

Seth & Noahisms:
  • The boys broke their first wishbone.  You will see in the series of pictures below, at first it was fun.  Then Noah 'lost' and threw down his piece of the wishbone.  Sore loser:

  • Seth's Santa drawing masterpiece.  I am still shaking my head:

  • Seth and Noah listen to music as they go to bed.  We have had the radio set to a station that plays only Christmas music for a while.  A couple of weeks go, Noah came out of his room and begged me to go with him so I could hear his FAVORITE Christmas song. Turns out, Noah's favorite song is 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' as sung by Bruce Springsteen.
