Last time we talked about hanging with the Hesterlys, this time we start out with the Jenkins clan. Grandma and Grandpa came to visit and brought with them Savannah & Declan. All of the kids seemed to be super happy when they arrived. We had a great time - hanging out at the beach, fowling, bubbles, ice cream, donuts with Chris, etc. It was so great to hang out with these kiddos - and grandma and grandpa too. The kids had fun building a hot tub on the edge of the Lake Michigan and burying each other in the sand.
We took a trip to Wisconsin-Illinois for some shenanigans. Took in the Bristol Renaissance Faire and Six Flags. At Bristol we took in the joust and the mud show as usual. The boys had fun doing the trampoline, feeding goats, throwing axes, and archery.. At Six Flags we needed to go ride the new coaster - Maxx Force. We all love "getting shot out of a cannon" (at least that's what I call it when you go from 0-78 mph in 2 seconds). Way fun! Of course our picture pass came in handy. We tried to work as a team on our picture posing. My favorite is when we decided to do rock/paper/scissors. The rule was that we don't tell anyone what you will choose. And we all chose scissors - 4 way tie.
I finally got the kids out golfing. That was fun and a little chaotic. Took the kids to the driving range later that week as well. The kids were hitting the ball well. Need more practice and they want to keep going to the driving range.
Bryce and I took the kids to the drive-in to take in Hobbs and Shaw. Two kids missed the end because they needed to use the restroom. The other slept through the end. Haha - rookies.
We took the kids to Boulder Ridge one afternoon and fed the giraffes. Kind of fun to see some animals we don't usually see at our zoo. Some of the gators were large and in charge.
When you have beach chairs/umbrella/beach wagon, you must beach. We took the kids to Millennium Park this weekend and had chill time on the beach. The boys played with mud - tried drowning each other - threw mud at each other - among other things.
Back to school activities have begun. We attended orientation last week for 6th grade. The boys had to learn their combination lock. We go back for an open house and a walk-through this week. God help us - middle schoolers. But they will have even more friends at school now. They are excited that their friend Gavin has a locker across from theirs.
Coming soon...first day of school pictures.
Savannah & Seth
Declan & Noah
I was getting seasoning out of the cabinet for dinner and the spray fell out - and onto the cake - my fault. Shelby was quick thinking and turned the cake around to keep it out of sight. She saved me.
So it started with burying Declan.
And then everyone wanted in.
Homemade Lake Michigan Hot Tub

When you are early and some of the first attendees to enter the petting area with food.
They swarm you.
Noah having fun
They didn't land any of their throws - until the last one - simultaneously - to thunderous applause from the crowd that was watching.
This looks a little strange from behind. He would open it up as if to expose himself. He got the attention he was looking for.
Diving into the mud pit.
We had time before Six Flags for breakfast and a stop at Lake Michigan. They had fun getting splashed by the waves hitting the barrier.
I finally got the family up in the stratosphere.
Kids in the second row - parents took a break.
There was a brief disagreement on how to do the X.
Seth want to go butt to butt - Noah wasn't having it.
Noah did amazing in this. While he was a few short of a prize - he did better than some adult contestants before him. The crowd cheered him on.
The picture pass paid off
We were supposed to scowl at the camera - Dad looked at the wrong camera - Mom smiled - Noah went Rogue - Seth was perfectly relaxed - almost bored.
Noah regretted not going on this.
Superman on Superman
Haha - Rock-Paper-Scissors
Rule: Don't tell anyone what you are going to do - we all chose scissors - 4 way tie!
This one was for Uncle Bug - the classic nose pick
Kayaks getting used!
There were good shots and then there were these shots.
The kids planking at fit body boot camp - bring your kids day.
Making bread!
Day with mom
We got a quick visit from this guy - who brought the plague with him. Poor guy.
Luckily Judy didn't get it. Unfortunately, they had to cut their trip short because of it.
We hit a random car show that was near the entrance to the neighborhood.
They like this veteran's car the best - he was a super nice guy to talk to.
Redneck Tubing - on a trolling motor. Shelby caught me taking the next picture.
Almost time for the drive-in movie to start
This sweet girl didn't want the boys to leave after the sleepover.
6th Grade Orientation
Hair dye before Boulder Ridge
Shelby and Noah feeding birds
We took a safari ride through the park.
Millennium Park
We got home and cut the grass. Noah found this guy while cutting the front.
Seth decided to give him a ride.
Shelby had some notable bakes this summer - these aren't all of them.
Random pictures from the yard.
