On stage with their class. Not singing.
Seth decided that it was a good time to chew on his sleeve. He apparently had nothing better to do.
They were given big bells to ring enthusiastically while singing 'Jingle Bells'. The boys were content to quietly hold them and look around.
The big grand finale with all of the children singing 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas'. At least ours were easy to spot with the hats!
There was a lot of this going on, too, during the program. I was only able to snap one picture because I was laughing too much.
Overall, I think it was wonderful! The boys had a great time and enjoyed the special night with their teachers and friends. We got a kick out of watching them. Chris videotaped the whole thing! After the performance they were given candy canes and yummy cookies. Even if they didn't sing, it was a successful night.
Lately, Seth has been giving us a lot of problems at bedtime. He has been fighting bedtime and throwing mad, screaming tantrums. Not only is he doing this when he goes to bed, but he also wakes up several times a night screaming. There is nothing wrong with him. He's just being stubborn. We decided to start a sticker chart to reward them for going to bed like big boys. The hope was that Seth would be motivated by watching Noah put stickers on the chart. It sort of worked. We did change one thing a couple of nights ago that has actually helped. The boys now go to bed with flashlights and only get to keep them if they behave. Fingers crossed and knock on wood that things continue to go well. Seth has still woken up the past couple of nights at almost midnight, but he fairly quickly settles himself back down without us having to go into their room.
The sticker charts. Seth's looks a little pathetic.
Noah's favorite thing to do lately is argue. The other day Chris had Noah with him and saw a tow truck at the side of the road. Noah said, "That's a police car". Chris replied, "No, son, that's a tow truck". Noah with total confidence said, "No, that's a police car". Chris said, "It's a tow truck". Noah kept going, insisting that it was a police car growing more impatient with our stupidity by the second. I had a similar discussion with him about a taxi cab. We're trying to figure out which one of us he gets that from. I've recently decided that it had to be my mother. She would have loved to argue with him...
