Basketball and more...

Basketball season is officially over for the boys.  Bring on swimming classes, baseball, warm weather, snow melting, hiking, etc...  You get the point.  We have determined that the boys' favorite sport is the one that they are currently in.

They loved every bit of basketball.  Shelby and I loved basketball games.  However, we dreaded basketball practice.  For the record, basketball practice at 7:30 on Friday nights for 1st grade kids is not good.

Things have been extremely busy around here especially with Shelby working a ton of hours lately.  They had their baseball evaluations a few weeks ago.  Swimming class overlapped basketball a little.  We have had lots of boys' nights lately.  I took the opportunity to introduce the boys to the movie Goonies.  They absolutely loved it.  Thank you ABC family for taking out the couple curse words.  We also went to the free movie of the week and saw a Dolphin's Tale 2.  It's been a lot of fun, although we still missed Shelby.  She's back to a normal routine now so we are looking forward to more family time.

Seth and Noah have been learning about Presidents lately.  Seth has been like a sponge with it. One night he just started talking about odd facts about George Washington, like that he had false teeth made of hippopotamus ivory.  He even remembered what year he was born.  Then he got into Abraham (he pronouned it "obraham") Lincoln.  He started talking about the Gettysburg Address and the Emancipation Proclamation and how he was shot and killed.  I was shocked that this was all coming from my little 1st Grader.  Noah came in and proceeded to tell me what year Lincoln was born and when he became president and when he died.  What happened to my little boys?

Seth and Noahisms:
Noah: He created his very own language this week...Vargish.  He mentioned it out of nowhere on the way home from school one day and he started blurting out words in Vargish telling us what they meant.  These are the two we remember.  Some others were very elaborate.
Bleeg =  goodbye
Bleem = Nice to meet you

Seth: He walked into our room one night when he was supposed to be in bed.  He looked at us and put is hands on his hips and said plainly "I'm strong enough to rip my shirt open".  We weren't even mad he was out of bed at that point.

Watch the move.
That's the move!
Noah's teammate just scored a basket.  Noah is happy for him.
It hurts when you get hit in the head with basketball.
Not quite sure why he does this.  Goofy kid.

 More to come...
