Life Lately...

We haven't been up to a lot lately, which is a nice change of pace!

The boys and I have been watching the Kids Baking Championship lately and it keeps giving us ideas and making us want to bake.  I came across a recipe to make half pound sprinkles cookies, so of course we had to give it a try.  We're thinking half pound chocolate chip cookies may be next.

Seth and I went to a banquet recently to celebrate the end of his swimming season.  It was called a banquet, but everyone was asked to bring a dessert to share...and that confused me.  I heard a tip from another mom to have Seth eat beforehand.  When we arrived, it was a banquet - a banquet of desserts!  Tables and tables of just desserts.  Of course, Seth was beyond excited about it.  First he had a plate of yummies and then he received a certificate and all of the ribbons he earned throughout the swimming season.  He is still saying he wants to swim next year, he really enjoyed it.

Noah had his last basketball game of his season.  He, too, really enjoyed the sport he chose to play this winter.  He made some great friends on his team and improved throughout the season.  Right now, he's on the fence about wanting to play basketball next year or give swimming a try.  I told him he had plenty of time to decide! These boys want to play ALL THE SPORTS.  Especially now after watching the Olympics.  I've been informed that they want to snowboard, bobsled and try luge.

This week, Seth's class had a Learning Celebration at the school.  We all went one evening to school to hear presentations the students prepared.  They could choose to do a PowerPoint presentation, create a poster, brochure or use a box. Seth chose PowerPoint because he said 'I love technology'.  He worked really hard on his presentation about snakes, even working on it every evening at home and on the weekends.  It was LONG, but it was thorough.  We were very proud of him.  The students talked about their projects with the guests, so they had to be prepared to answer questions.

In other randonmness...

Seth and Noah have quite the following of little girls at their before and after school program.  There's a group of girls who hold their hands when they are there and demand hugs upon arrival and departure.

Chris took this picture one morning when he dropped them off.  Two girls ran up to Noah and grabbed a hold of them.  They roll their eyes, but I think they secretly love it because they are so sweet to the girls.  Seth has told me has walked someone down the hall to the bathroom and waited outside for her to walk back because he was the only one she'd let walk with her.

The snow has finally melted (for now) and Seth and Noah are taking full advantage.  They can walk around the pond to visit their friends houses on the other side, so they are doing that every chance they get.
