We had a quiet Christmas with just the 4 of us. We let the boys open one gift Christmas Eve. It was a little something from us. They didn't understand what the shirts meant at first, but once we explained it, they loved them! They've already worn them to school (of course on the same day). They said they had to explain what it it mean to their friends, but the teachers thought it was funny.
They are not too old to have Dad read them 'The Night Before Christmas'.
Seth tried to have Luca on his lap while hearing the story, but Luca had the crazies and mostly just jumped all over then, hence the blur across Seth's face.
The boys are also not too old to leave cookies and drink choices for Santa. This year he had Coke, eggnog and beer to choose from.
Christmas morning brought quite the surprise for two VERY spoiled boys! Santa must have some special sleigh...
Seth played Santa this year and handed out the gifts.
Luca wasn't left out.
Chris got a new toy for his photography! Fun pictures like these will be popping up from time to time, I'm sure.
He also received some special, selected just for him, gifts from the boys.
The day after Christmas we had visitors! Bub, Mindy, Gavynn and Riley arrived and everyone was so excited! The boys had been talking for weeks about where everyone was going to sleep and what we were going to do while they were here. We all thought that sledding would be on the top of the list of activities, but Mother Nature had other plans. We had (and still have) ZERO snow! It was also too warm and rainy for us to visit any local ski hills for tubing. We didn't get bored, though.
First on the agenda was to open gifts, of course.
We played so many games! They brought Tiny Hands and it was a hit. It was also ridiculous which made it fun.
The boys got this game for their birthday from them, but we played it for the first time once they got here. It was also ridiculous, a little gross and fun.
When it was Riley's turn he said he was nervous, but he had a crowd cheering him on!
There was a little laser tag and bowling.

We also had a 'Grand Rapids' day with lunch/drinks at Founders and then a trip to the Grand Rapids Public Museum.
Giant chess is apparently a very serious endeavor.
Currently at the museum they have a toy exhibit as well as an exhibit about dinosaurs.
We all laughed more than we probably should have at the first item on the toy timeline: Stick.
Also...who ever thought that Jig Saw Jr was a good idea??
Gavynn and Seth
The toy exhibit also had a room full of arcade games! The games took quarters, which luckily I had a seemingly never-ending supply of, but it was funny to hear people act shocked 'They actually take money???'.
I eventually left Tetris, but I was there for a while.
I didn't even realize he had this in the camera bag.

We could not have enjoyed their visit more. Bub and Mindy are always fun to spend time with (and are adored by the boys) and Gavynn and Riley are amazing. They are growing so fast...I could not love them more. I miss them all.
New Year's Eve was just the 4 of us again. We all made it to midnight (barely) and promptly went to bed at 12:01!
Happy 2019!
