Labor Day Weekend

Happy Labor Day!

We have to start with a big THANK YOU to Grandma and Grandpa for staying with the boys while Chris and I went on our cruise to Alaska.  We had an amazing time and I know the boys had so much fun, they're still talking about it!  The boys went bowling, to the fair, parks, etc.  We were also helped out by my beautiful friend, Corinne, who came and filled in on bubba duty during the 'in between' time when we had to leave for the airport, but before Grandma and Grandpa could make it to the house.  Thanks, Corinne...I owe you!

We think Seth likes his moose hat and Noah likes his bear hat from Alaska.

While the boys were busy tiring out Grandma and Grandpa, Chris and I got to see scenery like this...

And lots of these...

On to the weekend activities...
We had a very busy Labor Day weekend.  On Saturday we were thrilled to participate in a 5K that supports the Scleroderma Foundation.  Chris ran a great race and I walked and pushed the boys in the stroller and struggled to keep up with Corinne's dad!  The boys also ran a kids fun run prior to the 5K.

Noah (red) and Seth (blue) with the gorgeous Wallace girls prior to their race. Yes, I see where Seth's hands are.  It's the best picture I got.

Stretching with Daddy.

Noah was very serious about his race.  He ran fast and was very intent the entire time.

Seth freaked out when they blew the whistle to start the race.  He did this the whole way, but at least he finished.

Showing off their medals.  Noah's also showing off his muscles.

After the 5k, we went to Millennium Park for one last visit of the summer.  We had great family time playing in the water, building sand castles and playing at the splash pad.

On Sunday, we went to another Whitecaps baseball game.  This time we sat in reserved seats instead of the lawn.  The boys did surprisingly well.

Noah and Chris.  We had a tough time getting a picture of them without a tongue stuck out at the camera.

This was taken right before Seth licked my face. Ewww....  Does that mean he likes me?

Another tongue.

A couple of weeks ago we introduced the boys to the Wii.  Today, we brought out the Wii Fit.

The Wii Fit assessed Noah.  It told him that he was obese and his Wii Fit age is 33.

Seth came up as overweight with a Wii Fit age of 24.

A few Seth & Noahisms:
  • All day yesterday, they were playing a game where one of them was the baby and the other was the mommy.  They kept referring to each other as baby and mommy which was really confusing for me.  I kept hearing the boys yell 'Mommy!!'.  I'd respond to them and they'd say 'No, not you!'.  Happened all day.  It got old.
  • If the boys are getting along, they'll tell each other that they are their best friend.  If someone gets ticked off at the other one, one of the first things out of their mouth is 'You're NOT my best friend'.  Luckily on Saturday they were getting along.  Noah told Seth 'You're my best friend'.  Seth was really excited.  Noah then told him 'You can come to my birthday party'.  That's super nice of him...
  • Seth and Noah worked on their manipulation skills while we were gone.  Turns out that they told Grandma and Grandma that 'Mommy says' it's O.K. for them to get up out of bed after bedtime.  They also told Corinne that 'Mommy says' that they are allowed to jump off our bed.  Luckily no one believed them.
  • The boys are making up a lot of games.  When they went to the fair they won a couple of inflatable bats and inflatable sharks.  Today, they were pitching the shark to each other and swinging at it with a bat.  That game was called 'Whitecaps'.  Another game they invented is 'Hitter'.  One of them will hold a blanket up in front of him while his brother hurls a toy at him.  They still play 'Pillow Fighting'.  During this game, each of them hold on to a pillow from the couch.  They ran toward each other, holding the pillows in front of them and smash together and bounce back.  The names of the games are their own creations.  I have nothing to do with it!
  • Noah informed us tonight that he wants a Darth Vader tattoo.
